Phlebotomy Study

Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts is a private vocational institution offering quality medical programs that integrate professional skills, career-focused education and hands-on exercise, empowering students to arise and reach their personal and career potentialities. The unique conception of our programs allows for our students on deep knowledge and active experience in the medical industry.

One of this programs is Phlebotomy Study. This program is planned for people who plan to work for a clinical laboratory or public health section or a clinic or hospital. The course combines 40-hours classroom education with a 40-hours off-site clinical internship to allow for students with a comprehensive learning experience. Lectures include but are not limited to the anatomy and medical terminology concerning to the circulatory system, specimen collection, risk factors, complications and quality hostage in specimen collection. Practical education provides active training in venipuncture method with procedures verified by a skills check-off system. The 40-hour externship includes at minimum 50 successful venipunctures and 10 skin thrust.
